Five Fifths LLC were invited to present to the industrial engineering students at the University of Florida on November 15th, 2010. Five Fifths business solutions mangers, Aloiye Abu, Olo Metzger and Lloyd McKenzie, lectured to the Introduction to Industrial Engineer class taught by Dr. Joseph Hartman. We focused our conversation on entrepreneurship and the challenges of starting up a business as an industrial engineer.
After introducing our company and the Think5TM business model, we walked the class through the steps that would be required to take their individual product or service offering from idea to business. Starting with a focus on research and development of the product, including market analysis and the design of a business model, to the creation of a business plan that supports your product, we spoke to the importance establishing an operating structure the contributes to the future success of the business.
Considering many of the challenges facing any new business, we stressed the importance of establishing an A-Team, maintaining business integrity and properly identifying business practices that support your operating structure. The questions and feedback of the students expressed their overall interest in the entrepreneurial spirit and the desire to be business owners themselves.
We look forward to continuing our relationship with the Industrial Engineering Department at the University of Florida. GO GATORS!
