Position Description:

Grant management work with primary responsibilities being to serve as a liaison between a college, school or center and the Office for Grant Services and to assist the clients in their area with proposal preparation and processing and award administration. May function in a working professional level position in the Office for Sponsored Programs.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for award management (financial and administrative)
  • Involved from pre-award stages through termination of contract or grant (includes tracking the stages of the process and preparing status updates)
  • Processes and reviews all proposal applications
  • Researches funding opportunities

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Extensive knowledge of the methods, procedures, and techniques used in grant preparation, coordination, and implementation.
  • Ability to participate in the evaluation and analyses of existing techniques and procedures and to assist in devising new techniques.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with university personnel, State and Federal agencies, and private organizations.
  • Ability to communicate ideas effectively, orally and in writing.

Education and Training:

  • Completion of a Bachelor’s degree (preferred) or a combination of education and experience with grant management, preferably in an educational institution.
